Your savings and retirement
You earned and saved it,
now WE need to protect it.
The Retirement & Personal Savings Protection Act, slated for the November 2026 ballot, protects retirement, savings, and personal property from new taxes — and bans retroactive taxes. It ensures your hard-earned savings are there when you need them.
Why we need the Retirement & Personal Savings Protection Act
Rising costs are affecting families everywhere. California’s high cost of living and existing taxes make it difficult to save. Many Californians struggle for decades to build a nest egg for retirement and their families’ futures.
Now, some politicians want to start taxing Californians’ retirement accounts and other personal savings. Public resources should be managed responsibly, without imposing new taxes on our retirement savings.
Protects Life Savings
The California dream is getting further out of reach as taxes and high costs take more and more of every paycheck. This measure prohibits new taxes on personal property, helping families protect the savings they’ve worked a lifetime to build.
Protects 401(k)s & IRAs
New taxes on value of 401(k)s, IRAs, and other investments could reduce lifetime savings, delay retirement, and leave Californians more vulnerable when they need security most. This measure protects their retirement nest eggs.
Protects Pensions
Teachers, firefighters, and other public and private employees should not be taxed on the future value of their pension benefits before they ever receive them. This measure protects earned retirement benefits.
Prevents Retroactive Taxes
The state should never be allowed to tax money you earned in the past. This measure prohibits retroactive taxes.
Who Will Benefit?
If we pass this measure, politicians will not be able to impose any new taxes on our personal property, including retirement savings and personal savings. This will benefit:
Middle-Class Californians
Near-Retirees
Their Families
Future Savers
and Entrepreneurs
